Report: Joe Biden’s Vow to Expand Title IX Seeks to ‘Shape Sexual Norms of Future Generations’

Article here. Excerpt:

'"Through regulatory guidance, Biden will require all administrators and staff who participate in a Title IX investigative process or may interact with a survivor at any point in the reporting process to participate in training on victim-centered, trauma-informed interview techniques. He will also require staff who develop prevention education programs or may interact with a survivor at any point in the reporting process to undergo training on the role of technology in sexual violence, dating violence, stalking, and harassment, an emerging challenge that is too often insufficiently understood."

‘Diversity’ Demand Excludes Gay White Dad from All-Female Parent Committee

Article here. Excerpt:

'A gay white dad of a mixed-race child has been denied a spot on the San Francisco Board of Education’s parent committee because he would hurt the diversity of the all-female group.

The board debated for two hours earlier this week on whether Seth Brenzel should be allowed to be a volunteer member of the committee after the parent advisory council unanimously supported his joining the committee and submitted his name to the school board for approval.

The Daily Mail detailed the ensuing battle:

His candidacy, however, faced opposition from some board members and members of the public who argued that there wasn’t enough diversity on the council – even though there are five seats currently empty. Those who opposed his candidacy were concerned with the fact that he is white.

Teacher ‘filmed herself masturbating in classroom filled with kids aged 7 and 8'

Article here. Excerpt:

'Ashley Hulsey, from Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, said: ‘It appears she was masturbating while the classroom was full of kids. We obtained video evidence because she videoed it herself and disseminated it and we were able to get a hold of that evidence.’

Ressler’s alleged sex tape is said to have been spotted online by a concerned local, who told school bosses, who in turn contacted the local sheriff’s office. It is unclear if any of the youngsters saw what Ressler allegedly did, or realized what she was up to.

Hulsey said news of the alleged sex tape had caused ‘mental anguish’ to children and parents affected. She added that the sheriff’s office had worked hard to have it wiped from the internet as quickly as possible, while bringing charges against Hulsey.'

Manne to give Society for the Humanities talk on male entitlement

Article here. Excerpt:

'Misogyny often stems from a wrongheaded sense of moral entitlement to women’s sexual, emotional, reproductive and material labor, Manne said. In the talk, she will introduce another form of entitlement that can be thought of as epistemic: a sense of entitlement to be the designated knower or informant, or the agent who issues authoritative explanations.

“It’s important to understand mansplaining and its darker cousin, gaslighting, as forms of epistemic domination – as ways people in dominant social positions assume, or insist, that they’re the authority in an exchange,” Manne said. “As a result, they can do grave harm to marginalized communities – and also to their own, as we saw with former President Donald Trump’s systemic gaslighting of many white Americans.”

Preventative Measures to be Taken to Combat the Culture of Sexual Assault in Boys Athletics

Article here. Excerpt:

'One organizer of the walkout, Mia Redmond, a senior in Communication Arts and Sciences (CAS), discussed her role in organizing the walkout, as well as her motives. The idea sprung out of a ‘CAS girls group’ after a shocking realization about the the amount of sexual assault occurrences at BHS. Redmond said, “I think it was just shock and disbelief that so many people have experienced sexual assault.” One thing that stuck out to Redmond was the lack of preventative action. She said, “After a sexual assault there is action, as well, that should be taken. But that is after it has happened and after the harm has been done.” She pointed to sports teams — where toxic masculinity is often plainly visible — as an example of where preventative action could be taken.

Australia: Mothers of Sons fights for fair treatment of men and boys

Article here. Excerpt:

'Two years ago, a Canberra woman Sarah Jane Parkinson was sent to prison for making over 30 false rape and violence accusations against her ex-fiance, Dan Jones. Jones was imprisoned as a result of the accusations and Dan’s parents, Ian and Michelle spent over $300,000 on legal fees battling for five years to have their son released and action taken against Parkinson.

Parkinson has just been released early on parole, missing out on a year of her very minimal three-year sentence. The Jones family is appalled, particularly as Parkinson has been given permission to join her husband, the NSW cop Scott White who faces a perjury trial later this year for his role in helping Parkinson as she persecuted Dan and his family. The whole saga featured on an hour-long 60 Minute special.

As a result of this publicity, the Jones family was swamped with messages from families who had endured similar ordeals, including many older women whose sons had been falsely accused.

Judge orders UConn to pay $63,000 to victim of Title IX kangaroo court

Article here. Excerpt:

'Nearly a year after a male student and University of Connecticut jointly submitted a plan to end his litigation against the school for its sexual misconduct investigation, the judge in the case has figured out UConn’s legal bill.

The taxpayer-funded university must pay “John Doe” $60,160 in attorney’s fees and $3,035 in costs because he is the “prevailing party” in the due process and sex discrimination litigation, U.S. District Judge Michael Shea determined in a Thursday ruling.

The “consent order” the parties submitted last year, which shortly followed Shea’s temporary restraining order, “materially altered the legal relationship between the parties in favor of Doe,” according the ruling.

Biden Administration Resurrects Office To Help Women 'At The Breaking Point'

Article here. Excerpt:

'Shortly after President Trump arrived at the White House, he disbanded an office specifically focused on women's issues. Now President Biden is resurrecting it just as quickly.

Biden has promised that gender equity will be at the forefront of his administration's policies. To help achieve that goal, he is creating a new Gender Policy Council within the White House — a reformulation of the Obama administration's White House Council on Women and Girls.

"Major structural disruption requires major structural change," council co-chair Jennifer Klein says in an interview with NPR. "Thinking big right now is exactly what we need to do. So, now's the time."
...
"We need to maintain a laser focus on the particular needs and priorities for women and girls," Klein says. "If you look at last month's job numbers, women have lost jobs in historic numbers, particularly women of color, and the caregiving burden is falling disproportionately on women."'

Facebook Censors Female Professor’s Book Critiquing ‘Toxic Femininity’

Article here. Excerpt:

'Facebook and Instagram removed posts advertising a bestselling book criticizing the “toxic femininity” and Marxist roots of radical feminism, claiming the posts violated the company’s “commerce policies,” the College Fix revealed Friday.

The book in question — The Anti-Mary Exposed: Rescuing the Culture from Toxic Femininity — was written by Carrie Gress, PhD, a Catholic professor at Pontifex University and mother of five. The book has sold exceptionally well, still ranked 7,948 on Amazon a year after its release, and it has received 423 reviews with an average of 4.7 out of 5 stars.

The rejection message said the ad for the book did not comply with Facebook’s commerce policies because listings “may not promote the buying, selling, or use of adult products” (emphasis added).'

China promotes education drive to make boys more 'manly'

Article here. I'm left speechless, and that is a rare thing indeed. Excerpt:

'A notice from China's education ministry has caused a stir after it suggested young Chinese men had become too "feminine". The message has been criticised as sexist by many online users - but some say China's male celebrities are partly to blame.

For a while China's government has signalled concern that the country's most popular male role models are no longer strong, athletic figures like "army heroes". Even President Xi Jinping, a well-known football enthusiast, has long been seeking to cultivate better sports stars.

So last week, the education ministry issued a notice with a title that left no doubt about its ultimate goal.

The Proposal to Prevent the Feminisation of Male Adolescents called on schools to fully reform their offerings on physical education and strengthen their recruitment of teachers.

In a Year of Wild Conspiracy Theories, Super Bowl Sex Trafficking Is a Classic

Article here. Excerpt:

'The Super Bowl shows how truly mainstream sex trafficking conspiracy theories are. With Super Bowl LV coming up this Sunday, the now-routine round of warnings about sex trafficking around the big game has once again surfaced. (There's even an art awareness project that involves goats, and special spot-a-trafficker training for Uber drivers.)

So, here is your annual reminder that there's no truth to the idea that forced and underage prostitution pick up around the Super Bowl (or other big sporting events), nor that "human traffickers" will descend on the city where it takes place. Tampa can rest easy (at least about that), and we can all marvel at the persistence and audacity of this myth.'

Women now outnumber men in med school. And studies show that's good for patients.

Article here. Excerpt:

'In 2019, the majority of U.S. medical students were women (50.5 percent) for the first time, according to the organization. Once graduated and finished with their residency placement, women doctors are most concentrated in pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, child and adolescent psychiatry and neonatal-perinatal medicine.

Women remain the minority in many specialties, but Nunnery believes it’s only a matter of time before that changes, too. Her daughter is a sophomore at Howard University majoring in sports medicine, the fastest growing specialty in the country, according to AAMC.
...
Traditionally, women are seen as the leaders of the household and those skills translate easily to the medical world, said Dr. Amelia Averyt, associate medical director for family practice at Legacy Community Health. Studies show female health care providers improve patient morbidity and mortality outcomes.'

UK: Say It Loud launch campaign for compulsory ‘masculinity’ workshops for male uni students

Article here. Excerpt:

'An Oxford Brookes sexual assault support group is campaigning to make it compulsory for male-identifying students at universities to be educated through workshops about positive masculinity.

Say It Loud, the group started by Brookes student Meredith, launched the campaign to tackle “lad culture” and “toxic masculinity”.

In December, the university said it was investigating allegations of a rugby social where “everyone had to try and get as many nudes from Brookes girls as possible.” Brookes Rugby Union also said they were investigating.

The campaign details problems with “lad culture” such as “slut-dropping”, where men offer to take women home and then leaving them miles away from their home; “hazing”, embarrassing activities that sometimes take place at sports socials such as pouring food over people and making them do humiliating things; and “going on the pull”, where men go out looking for women to have sexual intercourse with.'
