Killer mom fights to keep child tax credit

I have no idea why our courts here in Canada would even patronize such a stupid request. She murdered her own child, and she was overpaid already, so what chance does she have of collecting the tax credit? None at all. I agree with what the man in the article said. This case will be a waste of time. I'll be damned if a woman can take advantage of the benefits of having a child, after she murdered said child. Poor Eveleigh... she never even got to live a full life.

I too think it's pathetic that our society would value a woman's well being over the life of a child. It's interesting though, because that equation rings true regarding how many women believe they're entitled to certain things and act like children.

It would not surprise me in the slightest to learn she honed her murderous technique on the ones she cared for as a nurse to the elderly.... I bet the part she liked best was murdering them in their sleep... they REALLY need to look at the medications her patients were on at the time of death and perhaps get families permission to exhume some bodies and perform otopsies to see if there are any more victims of this evil woman.

This psychotic woman at one point was a caregiver. God only knows how many people were victims of her.

I know that was information was given to attempt to gain sympathy for this woman, however it strikes me more as attempting to gain sympathy by explaining how skilled she is at the craft of murder and how much she enjoys it.

I mean, is it merely a coincidence that she murdered her daughter in her bed with pills and suffocation - a method which would have been nearly undetectable at her former occupation?

I know that if I learned of this and I was a family member of some one she'd 'cared' for as a nurse I would be wanting an exhumation of the body and an autopsy performed to make sure they weren't murdered. But I don't believe female serial killers are any more rare then male serial killers so the facts of this case call for more investigation in my book. Of course no police or hospital personnel will further investigate her history as a nurse because she's a woman.

I also found it strange that she claims to have attempted suicide (but of course called a friend) by consuming a large amount of alcohol, taking pills herself, and placing her head in a plastic bag. Obviously it was not a serious attempt but merely forward thinking to ensure that she receives sympathy and forgiveness for murdering her child.

Women love being treated like children when it benefits them (all-girl gyms, preferential funding for their programs, etc). They cry equality only when they get something out of it. If they have to give up something (their preferential treatment in courts or protection from the draft), they'll quickly revert to child-mode about how they deserve everything for simply existing.
