Woman charged with armed robbery. Excerpt:
'HILLSBOROUGH -- A woman who was caught after allegedly robbing a convenience store Wednesday tried to tell deputies she did it after a man beat her and forced her to commit the robbery. But her lack of injuries to substantiate her story caused authorities to doubt her story.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office charged Elizabeth Scott Allen, 24, of 1523 Pleasant Green Road, Durham, with armed robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglary tools. A magistrate set her bond at $50,000, and she was confined in the Orange County Jail.'

Will the victim card work at trial?
At least the arresting officer had the common sence to arrest her and not buy her bullshit story.
But a jury just might. Especially since even the convinience store clerk described her as pretty she will most likely get probation for this armed robbery when she turns on the water works in court.
No matter happens I have got $100 to put on the outcome that says she won't recieve a sentance even half as long as a male charged with armed robbery if she gets any jail at all.
Even in state with minimum jail sentances for violent crimes I have seen women walk out of court convicted but only recieving house arrest. The judges just made up some bullshit about the spirit in which the minimum sentances were invisioned and how that obviously is not applicable to this case...
