MacAusland, like Clancy, is facing two counts of first-degree murder in the strangling deaths of her children: Kai, 7, and Ella, 6.

Police say MacAusland admitted to the slayings after arriving at a relative’s home in Vermont, telling her aunt, “I wanted the 3 of us to go to God together, but it didn’t work.”

MacAusland subsequently told police, “I strangled them and then I tried to kill myself,” according to a police report.

The 49-year-old has been held without bail since her arraignment in district court in early May. Thursday marked the first hearing in her case since that arraignment, and Krowski placed the delays squarely on Norfolk County prosecutors.'
