Female Bullying and Psychosis Now Seen as a Global Epidemic
Article here. Excerpt:
'For years feminists have extolled the virtues of the workplace, claiming that women’s superior relationship skills would give rise in a veritable gender Nirvana. But commentator Bettina Arndt has blown the lid off that feminist myth, documenting the global problem of female bullying in the workplace (1):
- Presidential candidate Kamala Harris inflicted “constant soul-destroying criticism on her office staff.”
- An independent review found former Canadian Governor General Julie Payette had created a “toxic” workplace through yelling, belittling, and public humiliation of staff.
- Former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss engaged in “soul-destroying” and “pure bullying that drained the life out of the team,” according to former aides.
- Former Australian Foreign Minister Julia Bishop was accused of engaging in a “pattern of threats, intimidation, and bullying.”
These are not isolated examples. One survey of over 200 former female executives cited “toxic interpersonal dynamics” as a major reason for their departure (2). Another study found 70% of women report poor job satisfaction due to relational aggression (3). An article in the Washington Post revealed how gossip and related behaviors among female colleagues can constitute workplace bullying, not harmless “girl talk.” (4)'
