NCFM Letter to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth about Wrongful Allegations
Article here. Excerpt:
'October is recognized nationally as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the impact of domestic violence and renew commitments to justice and support for all affected. In this context, the National Coalition for Men (NCFM) highlights the urgent need for fairness and integrity in the handling of domestic violence, sexual harassment, and sexual assault allegations within the Armed Forces. While supporting victims and holding perpetrators accountable is essential, NCFM draws attention to the significant harm caused by false allegations—wrongful convictions, administrative discharges, and lasting personal and professional consequences for service members.
NCFM welcomes recent policy changes that introduce credibility assessments and accountability for false claims, but urges further reforms. These include the creation of a Conviction Integrity and Accountability Unit, improved oversight of military prosecutors and law enforcement, and greater transparency in promotion decisions. As we observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month, NCFM calls for balanced policies that protect victims, safeguard the rights of the accused, and ensure justice for all members of the military community.'
