Urge Congressoids to include women in Selective Service, or end it

The National Defense Authorization Act of 2026 (NDAA 2026) is making its way through Congress. House Rep. Jack Bergman of Michigan added an amendment to the bill that would require automatic registration of men ONLY.

Obviously this is ridiculous on several levels, one being that the rationale for keeping the draft male-only in previous court cases included the fact that the draft existed to fill out the ranks for combat roles. Since those decisions, policy has changed and women are now eligible for combat roles. Modern warfare is largely about being able to shoot a rifle (which any idiot can do, alas) and otherwise not $hitting one's pants when things start blowing up around you. That last has nothing to do with gender. Some men lose it under fire, some don't. Same goes for women. Why should guys have all the "fun"? We shouldn't.

Please contact your House AND Senate Congressoids via https://www.congress.gov/ and ask them either to support the bill if it includes women in the registration requirement, or better yet, eliminate the Selective Service system entirely. But in any case at no time should men be auto-registered for the draft unless women are too.
