No Winner for Yesterday's Daily Activist Challenge

As some of you may know, yesterday's grassroots challenge was to write up a short editorial about your opinion on Farrell's candidacy and/or its effect on men's rights and send it to us with the best one being put on the front page today. Unfortunately, since we recieved no entries, there's no stellar article to display in all it's glory. This has caused me to question the grassroots campaign. See Read More.There has been a trend for men's activists to not get involved in activities, and the grassroots campaign has been no exception. I've seen this issue discussed on MANN, in newsgroups, on men's activists yahoo groups, and even on Angry Harry last winter when he called the inactive men's activists "Wet Whiny Whingers!", "Master Moaning Minnie(s)!", and "lazy good-for-nothing SCUMBAG(s)!". When I look at the results of some of the activities men's activists have been petitioned to support, it seems glaringly obvious to me that something is wrong.



Now I don't know that something is. I could speculate regarding the grassroots challenges that maybe this group doesn't support Farrell as much as I'd thought, perhaps most of you consider men's issues more of a hobby than a cause to be involved in, maybe you're very busy people and don't have the time to participate much. I don't know, and I think it doesn't matter. Either you'll get involved in an activity or you won't, regardless of your myriad reasons. Its not my place to judge you or to try to make you feel guilty about what you decide to and not to be a part of. After all, I haven't taken every activist opportunity I've seen either.



However, right now I'd like to figure out if continuing with the challenges is a waste of time I could better spend on other endeavors. If nobody wants to participate in the challenges, then there's no point in making them. If that's the case, I'd like to know now. If you aren't willing to participate in tommorow's daily challenge, just don't post a comment in reply to this. If however you do feel that the activist challenges are a worthwhile thing and you're willing to commit to participating in them, please post a reply to this stating so. If I get at least 5 different people to make a commitment to doing tommorow's challenge, and a few a week from here on out, I'll keep making them. Considering the amount of traffic this site gets that isn't asking for all that many. If I get fewer than that I don't consider it productive and I'll invest my efforts on other ventures. I won't be judgmental towards this group or have hard feelings, I'll just look at it as this particular activist attempt didn't work out.
