How Would Trump Change Higher Education Policy?
Article here. Excerpt:
'Last month I looked at Hillary Clinton’s higher education proposals in this Clarion Call, and found nothing to praise in them. They merely deepen the already ruinous federal involvement in subsidizing college.
Now it’s time to take a look at the higher education ideas that have been advanced by Donald Trump and the Republicans.
I will start with the Republican Platform even though it’s not clear how much the nominee is committed to it. Several pages are devoted to higher education.
The first issue raised is the problem of Title IX and its abuse by federal bureaucrats. “We emphatically support the original, authentic meaning of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972,” the platform states.
That provision, it continues, was intended to ensure that girls and women would have the same educational opportunities as males, but has been perverted to “impose a social and cultural revolution upon the American people by wrongly defining sex discrimination to include sexual orientation and other categories.”'

Don't forget that the
Don't forget that the Democrats and especially The Clintons, want more federal control of education. Instead of Kindergarten thru 12th grade public education system, they want a preschool thru 14th grade system (the 13th and 14th year will actually be what is now known as 1st and 2nd years of college) This is because of the teacher's unions, which are often the most powerful political force in each state, and which is a large contributor to the democratic party. So imagine what adding 4 grades of public school teachers to the union will do to the size and power of the union (an already powerful union) and how much more money will flow out of the hands of taxpayers and directly to the hands of democrats.
The signs of federalizing is the push for universal "free" preschool and the push for "free" 2 years of college. remember we have "head start" which already provides free pre-school for low income families and we already have many avenues for free college (The federal Pell grant and joining the military). So when they say "free" they really mean paid by taxpayers and to wipe out private pre-schools and make them unionized preschools and to take over what is now known as community colleges and unionize them, and add them to the public school system. They also want control of the curricula.
You can read all about it, in what is referred to as "Dear Hillary Letter" by Marc Tucker, which outlines the plan to take over the public school system. It was written when Bill Clinton took office and Tucker and Hillary both served on the Board of Education.
