'If we want men to become better fathers, why not help them learn how they can be?
And why not do it before they fall into the very traps that produce countless bad fathers?
Those two concepts seem pretty logical, especially in a city like Jacksonville. But historically they are concepts that have rarely been embraced by many local programs that have been launched to foster better fatherhood in our community.
Too often these programs are only available to men after they’ve been in jail and released. Or they’re offered only after men have become entwined in the court system for failing to provide child support.'
