Nurse falsifies DNA test to commit paternity fraud

'A besotted nurse tricked a man into thinking he had fathered a baby with her during a one-night stand.

Charmaine Wilson, 25, forged a birth certificate and faked a DNA test to convince Liam Griffiths of her deception in a ‘lie that snowballed out of control’.

Mr Griffiths, 31 was taken in by the lie and grew to love the boy he believed he had fathered her child during the one-off drunken encounter.

In fact, the two-year-old toddler belonged to one of Wilson’s friends – who also had no idea what she had been up to.

It took me a second to figure it out, but apparently the child is not even her child. In most cases, the woman actually gives birth but claims the wrong father. In this case, she never even gave birth. It was another couple's child, which she borrowed to show the alleged father and convince him it was his. Weird twist on a common story.

Also, if I'm reading this correctly, she was convicted of falsifying a DNA test and a birth certificate, not for paternity fraud.

They do have nice close-ups of the woman, making her look sympathetic. And apparently she couldn't help herself; the lie just snowballed. Ah, the poor victim of her own lie.

"drunken one night stand"?

It seems to me if that was the case, she's guilty of more than just fraud. At least, according to feminist logic, she also sexually assaulted the man. I'd love to see the mental gymnastics a feminist would do to try to make the man out to be the bad guy here.
