'Women now make up nearly half of all business travelers in the United States and abroad, and most of them are solo travelers. So it’s no surprise that in recent years, more hotels have been clamoring to offer services catering to women’s needs and preferences.

While some road warriors applaud the extra touches — from smaller slippers and padded hangers to entire floors set aside for female guests (complete with female staff) — there are others who take offense to the notion of women receiving different treatment. Especially when it comes to the mildly patronizing touches of floral décor or the latest issue of Cosmopolitan, and adding yet another surcharge. Some might also argue that prohibiting men from certain rooms or services is flat-out discriminatory or that it might open the door for other forms of separate treatment — after all, men-only floors would generate a lot of controversy.

The 812-room Bella Sky Comwell in Copenhagen opened in 2011 with its 17th floor dedicated to female guests. The Bella Donna floor, as it’s called, is outfitted with champagne and smoothies in the minibar, ionic hair dryers, nail files, and skin care samples in the bathroom. However, the hotel lost a lawsuit in April charging that the women-only floor was discriminatory toward men. The 20 women-centric rooms in this convention center hotel are still available, but men are now permitted to book the rooms as well (although hardly any do).'

Bizarre. OK, seems women-only floor's rooms are stocked with the nicer amenities, including champagne. Is there an up-charge or is it gratis (i.e., paid for by "everyone", incl. male guests)? And, I guess male guests wouldn't appreciate champagne in their rooms, too? And better decor? Hey, I like nice decor, too! Who's paying for the decor improvements on the females-only floors, anyway? Again, is it "everyone", also?

Next, there's "safety concerns" the solo female traveler has. Hmm, so solo male ones don't, too?

"Safety concerns". Let that sink in. Women need female-only, card-key access-protected floors in order for them to be safe from... what? Polar bears? Wolverines? Tornadoes? Meteor showers??? No wait, let me guess... MEN!!!

Yes, throughout the history of public accommodations, women have been in such great danger from wild and lust-crazed MEN that it's been a travesty of justice and great negligence from law enforcement that has led to this absolutely necessary addition of women-only hotel floors to the landscape of public accommodations.

Just what did all those lone-travelling women do in the past? Suffer the constant sexual assaults absent the safety and security of women-only floors and specially-encoded elevator card-keys?

Not long ago, businesses of all kinds, including hotels, used to refuse accommodation to or segregate guests (with inferior amenities for some classes and better for the rest) based on skin color. Blacks got the least favorable accommodations available, or none at all. Next came non-black "colored" people like American Indians, Asian Indians, and Hispanics. Next came Asian Orientals/Pacific islanders, and finally the best grades, caucasians. And the justification? "Safety". Whites were concerned for their "safety".

I wonder if the women staying on these women-only floors will object one day, perhaps sue the hotel, should a guest thereon have a health emergency requiring EMTs to come to her aid, but these medics turn out to (*gasp*) be men? Or how about the firemen (oh, sorry, I meant "firefighters") who must act in typical rapist (i.e., male) fashion and just barge onto the women-only floor in a classic RAPE analogy to put out a fire accidentally started by a hair curler (supplied as an extra, no-charge amenity to the female floor-only guests) left on and unattended? Will they claim it'd've been better to burn to death than to have the sacred women-only floor defiled sacrilegiously by the toxic, unholy presence of testosterone-poisoned macho jerks??

I doubt it.

can't remember which show on fox, the floosie (as my mom calls them) on the show suggested a new ap for wives to have on their I-phones. its like the one created for parents to turn their kid's phone off until the kid returns their (her) call. this suggested new one would turn husband's/bf's phone off until he returns madam's call. she predicted it would be a big seller. from what I've seen lately in mangina-land, I have to agree w/ her.

actually, I'm surprised there aren't already more products along this line. 'californication' had a rad-feminist put some sort of painful cock-block on the billionaire cheating husband of marcie, and then run off w/ the key.

just wait until hitlery is prez. cock-blocks will probably seem tame from what she has planned for amerika's second class citizens.
