Step Forward for Male Student's Title IX Lawsuit

Big surprise there! They screen comments to make sure they are not too on-target. After all, it is the "Inside Higher Ed" we're talking about here. Anyway, this was my comment which didn't make it past their PC-feminist filtration system:

At this point, I think men's colleges need to be re-established. Decades ago, colleges were more often single-sex, as they had been largely founded and funded by religious institutions. The first dormitories were modeled after monastic and cloister cell building designs. Not so today, but the gender exclusivity that occurred back then as a consequence of priestly and monastic orders running colleges that were thus men-only and later, orders of nuns opening women-only colleges, was understandable, if not considered by today's standards to be, at the least, "quaint".

The high degree of hostility toward males routinely fostered and evinced by faculty and administrators on today's colleges is rather hard to grasp in a lot of ways, as colleges and universities are the inventions of men, along with virtually every major area of study, scientific and otherwise. I conjecture that ~95% of the people alive today in the industrialized world have the ingenuity of men to thank for it, as most of us would not be here without the intervention of modern medical techniques, medicines, and devices that support not just those things but our lifestyles: cars, central heating, indoor plumbing, large-scale electrical distribution, and the list goes on. Women didn't have a lot to do with the development of those things despite having literally millenia to "get a jump on the guys". Remember the infant mortality and child labor death rates women suffered before men founded the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology? You don't? That is because it was before your time, and I am sure, no one has bothered to mention that it was founded by men, just like the rest of modern medicine-- and engineering, and architecture, and pretty much anything else that makes life bearable/much more pleasant, such as shampoo, soap, modern dentistry (people used to kill themselves due to the insufferable pain their abscessed teeth, etc., gave them), toothpaste, flush toilets and toilet paper.

Still, it wouldn't be the first time that the inventors of something had the benefactors of it throw it back in their faces and hate them for it. (Anyone who's raised kids through adolescence knows this first-hand.) But maybe this takes the analogy too far.

Focusing on the present, it appears college admins who may disagree with the incessant male-bashing and rape hysteria on their campuses but are too afraid to lose their well-paying, very cushy jobs with a guaranteed pension (nice, if you can get one; most Americans are lucky to get a 401(k) deal these days) should they dare to offend the resident tenured feminists who make their living teaching female students that males are, despite the mountains of evidence surrounding them in the form of the buildings they live in, vehicles they get around in, clothes they wear, roads they use, and almost everything else of practical use, are unnecessary, dangerous, stupid, and not worthy of consideration. Meanwhile, it is is the tuition payments from these males that universities are hoping to maintain so as to pay said looney feminist faculty types their generous salaries, health insurance, and pensions. So while they are busy trying to placate the PC crowd on campus, they secretly hope beyond hope that the guys'll never wake up to how they are being both shafted and exploited in grand style.

I see no reason why today's young men should put up with this nonsense. Are colleges really so uncomfortable with men on campus? If so, why do they continue to allow them to be there? Answer: They know what's happening here, they are just too afraid to stand up to the feminists.

Are they so scared of men running around raping all the female students that they are fine with the idea that a mere accusation, anonymous at that, ought to be sufficient to get the lad thrown permanently off campus, which is to say, expelled? Are they fine with the basic tenets of the US Constitution being thrown out, with the government's blessing I might add (for they too are easily cowed by feminists, it seems), at the same time insisting that should they themselves be subject to such treatment, they ought to have every right to defend themselves and to demand evidence of wrong-doing? If nothing else, they are instructing young men in Thomas Hobbes' line of thinking around authority: "Do as I say, not as I do, and don't speak to me of 'rights'; you have none, since I have all of them."

At this point, the safest places for men in institutions of higher education are men's colleges, and America obviously needs a lot more of them, particularly the kind that will both enlighten the mind generally and give the graduate the skills and mindset necessary to make the money spent worth it after he graduates. Any new colleges founded in the US ought not contribute to the insane college tuition debt crisis we already have, produced by the seemingly insatiable greed of today's colleges and universities. After all, why should young men and their parents finance the very institutions that despise them in every way except for the fact that they are going into crippling debt to hand money over to them each semester in pursuit of a degree that is, in most cases, of questionable value in the job market?

"Co-ed is dead", and feminists and cowardly college and government administrators killed it.

Wow, talk about heresy! But I've never been good at being orthodox. :) I have always had a fondness for this particular line from Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young":

"I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints; the sinners have much more fun."
