Husband defends teacher in domestic violence case
Story here. Excerpt:
'A Gaston County elementary school teacher faces an assault charge related to a domestic violence incident that occurred Monday.
Sharon Denise Putnam left fingernail marks on her husband, Adam, after the two had an argument over a cellphone video, according to a warrant affidavit signed by Stanley Police Officer J.L. Abernathy.
...
Putnam said he had to “barricade himself in the bathroom,” but that his wife started kicking and shoving trying to get to him, according to the warrant. “Once the suspect got into the bathroom, she tore the victim’s pants to get the phone out and throw it into the toilet,” Abernathy wrote in the warrant affidavit. The officer noted he could see fingernail marks and scratches on Adam Putnam’s upper arm.
Adam Putnam said he showed up at his wife’s first court appearance and defended her again on Wednesday. “She’s the most genuine, sensitive person you’ll ever meet in your life,” Putnam said.
...
Adam Putnam said he asked police that night not to arrest her, but that the officer said he had to take her in because he could visibly see the scratch marks and bruises on his body.
The Putnam’s 12-year-old son also told police that he videotaped his mother attacking his dad, but that his mother deleted the video off his cellphone, according to a warrant affidavit.'

Genuine and sensitive doesn't exclude nuts and abusive
I'll bet Hitler's old lady used to say he was genuine and sensitive, too.
Yep, I just touched the third rail of analogies, didn't I? Well, it's true, right?
Being sensitive and genuine doesn't preclude nuts and/or abusive. The husband's in the same mind-f*ck trap anyone else in an abusive relationship can readily be in. But I doubt you'll see many DV advocates rushing to help him any time soon, esp. not with offers to help place him in a public DV shelter for men and their kids-- because there aren't any.
