Dating Service Pays Out $900k for Anti-Male Discrimination
Article here. Excerpt:
'The company offered high-end matchmaking services to professionals too busy to find a date — but in its efforts to provide discriminating companionship to its clients, the It’s Just Lunch dating service ended up discriminating against its own employees.
It’s Just Lunch agreed to pay out $900,000 to settle an EEOC lawsuit that alleged that the company refused to hire men for jobs as dating directors or inside sales representatives.
Most of the cash will go toward compensating men who applied for the jobs in question between 2007 and 2013 but were not considered for hire. Part of the money is also going to Lynda Twist, the former human resources director, who says she was fired after she spoke up against the company’s hiring practices.'
