Go Red reminds us heart disease kills more women than all cancers combined

Article here. Excerpt:

'Six hundred women gathered today for the Go Red for Women annual luncheon to put an end to the number one killer of women in America, heart disease! Did you know women have a much greater chance of dying from heart disease than all forms of cancer combined, according to the American Heart Association. Heart disease and stroke are the number one killers of women in this country. One in three women will be impacted by heart disease; you could be one of them.

It's a shocking number but much better than where we were 10 years ago before Go Red for Women was founded to educate women about this very real killer.

Today's event is a major fundraiser for the programs across our region to educate women and help fund events to get information to those at risk. More than $500,000 dollars was raised and another $12,000 on the "Pursonality Auction".'
