Story here. Excerpt:
'TAYLOR (WWJ) - Some Downriver men are furious after their gym made the switch to women-only.
A protest was held Tuesday morning outside the Taylor Fitness USA Supercenter that, until recently, was open to men and women on alternating days.
Demonstrators carried signs that read, “Fraud,” and “Gender bias.”

Donald Schoenberger told WWJ Newsradio 950′s Mike Campbell he nearly got arrested when he tried to enter the club on Pardee Road, near Southland Mall.
“[I'm a] Vietnam veteran 68, 69, 70 — and I won’t have this; I won’t tolerate it. I’ll go to jail, but I won’t have somebody that I fought for … I fought for her, too, and she laughed in my face,” he said.'

Yep, risking life, limb, and sanity...
... for ppl who don't respect or even like you. A lot of men did that in the '60s and '70's and are still doing so today. The 'nam vet quoted in the article knows it now if he didn't before: today's women don't appreciate the risks and sacrifices he made. Instead, they disdain and laugh at him, and label themselves the victim. That's what he fought for. He didn't realize it at the time, but here it is.
Looks like a good turnout for
Looks like a good turnout for the protest.
From the article: "A memo from the fitness chain states that many men who worked out in Taylor have enrolled at the Lincoln Park facility, but anyone with extenuating circumstances should contact Fitness USA which will handle them on a case-by-case basis"
That is code for "if you complain hard enough, then we will give you a refund" I hate businesses that do business like this. They know they are in the wrong. They are just hoping the men will comply. I believe legally they owe anyone a refund who asks for one, as the terms of the contract have changed (even if the location is unwritten in the contract, it was an "understanding" which is legally binding, especially if they signed the contract at that location).
