Dallas Mayor Calls on Men to Fight Violence Against Women

'The mayor of Dallas has unveiled a list of professional athletes and religious leaders who have signed on to help his campaign against domestic violence.

The campaign asks men to report abuse, help people who are being abused and volunteer with organizations that are helping.

The centerpiece of Mayor Mike Rawlings' campaign is the Men Against Abuse rally scheduled for Saturday at Dallas City Hall.

'MESQUITE, TX -- A woman shot and killed her husband and two young adult children before killing herself in their suburban Dallas home, investigators said Thursday.

The bodies of Angelica Vazquez, 43, her husband and their two children were discovered four days after officers first responded to a 911 call reporting the sound of gunfire but found no reason to go into the family's Mesquite home, police spokesman Bill Hedgpeth said.'

How abt the same standard for not hitting men, Mr. Mayor? Or is that too rad an idea?

Oh, and does never, ever hitting women include refraining from doing so even if she's trying to kill you or someone else, or just plain trying to show you that she's in charge, or maybe just expressing her frustration over your lack of *whatever* in her opinion, thereby making you deserving of a good slapping around? 'cause guess what Mayor, this happens to literally thousands on men across the country daily and millions all over the world. Yet you and other political leaders remain utterly silent.
