Dallas mayor encourages rally for women against domestic violence

Article here. Excerpt:
'At a recent press conference, Rawlings said, “We want to make it known that any violent act toward a woman will not be tolerated by the men in the city … in the past this has been viewed as a women’s issue, but it ain’t. It’s our problem.”
It’s refreshing to see a male public official using his position to call attention to our society’s frustrating tendency to shift blame (and possible solution) from the perpetrators to the victims.
To that end, Rawlings has organized a rally for his new “Men Against Abuse” campaign, whose goal is to remove the aura of cultural acceptance around domestic violence. Rawlings expects at least 10,000 men to attend the rally in March.'

Nothing wrong here, except...
... no mention of male DV victims.
There's nothing wrong with 10,000 men rallying against DV at a mayor's request. What is wrong is that half the victims are not being acknowledged.
rally, or witch-hunt?
It appears the mayor's rally has more to do with Witch-Hunting Males, than honest solutions to domestic violence.
No way this joker event is going to get 10,000
This self-shooting in his foot, politicaly opportunistic clueless butthole excuse for a mayor won't get what he, supposedly(?), wants. This rally is coming completely out of left field amongst absolutely no solid data or reality that wife- abuse is this systemic or widespread of a problem in their city.
Of course, due to the fact being that so many male sports fans are pathetic butthole sniffing of the more powerful man lemmings, there will be some support come out for this bogus, out of no-where event. But I don't see how it can attract that much particpation, given the fact that most men know themselves that they have not abused women nor have most if not all of the men they ever known, unless their massivley delusional and can't see past their own eyelids (this phenomenon, The Loborsky Effect, is a real psychological one but I don't see how it oculd infect so many for this one issue).
To voice your objections to the mayor, here's the contact page. http://www.ci.dallas.tx.us/forms/mcc/mayor_mail_contactus.htm
I suggest voice particular complaint to how insulted and degraded you feel by the insiduious dismissal of male victims of domestic violence as well as the dismissal in general of violence against men in society (perpetrated by other men too, where, for instance there's no mention whatsoever about fostering and creating respect between men and to stop seeing each toher as meatbag objects of violence). This is the very worst of chivalric droner drivel. Don't accept this insainty wheregy a human issue, domestic violence, is hegemonically labelled as a woman's issue instead and is usurpted for expedient political purposes.
