Ask Dad: I Want My Man to Get Circumcised

Travesty here. Excerpt (have barf bucket handy):

Q:'I'm very much in love with a new man. I think he's the one. Marriage material. There's just one little problem. He's uncut, and I hate to say it, but it really grosses me out. I want him to get circumcised, but how could I possibly ask?'

A:'So let's set aside the merits. I think you've really hit on something here. A truer test of devotion you will not find. His saying "I love you," giving you a ring, buying you a house, all good signs to be sure. But cutting off part of his body, in the most sensitive and nerve-wracking spot possible? That, my dear, is true love. If he'll do it, you've got a keeper.'

This is a disgusting request.

Please remember that this is not how most women feel. Take a look at all the woman that are slamming her.

Circumcision is promoted by men. I think the key to getting rid of the procedure is educating the public about the myths of circumcision and informing them of the benefits of foreskin. (something I never knew until I joined this group).

And as far as women preferring cut guys.... I realize this article is an example of one, but honestly I have never heard of a girl having a strong preference. The only talk I hear is of being curious of what an uncut guy looks like or how to perform a BJ on one. (here in the US many girls only see cut penises).

Usually the myth that women prefer circumcised penises is perpetuated by men that are circumcised. The last time I read an article about circumcision it contained several comments from men who were glad to be cut because they believed that's what "women prefer". When I posted a comment in favor of banning circumcision, these guys threatened to "kick my ass" if they ever saw me (I think they thought I was a guy).

Anyway, I hope this woman sees how foolish and selfish she is. She describes him as her "new man" but she already considers him "marriage material"? It is hard for me to believe that the sex is really that good if she is disgusted by his body. I don't see how a relationship can last without good sex......

This comment reveals how women expect that men will compromise themselves just for them (never mind that this is cosmetic, and not functional, if she wants it, then by golly she should get it). Men are, after all, expected to go to war and die to protect women and children. And men are, after all, expected to go down with the ship, while the women (and a few children) get to survive, as was done in the Titanic. So what's a little foreskin? Men are already giving away their money to women (alimony, child support, unfair divorce property settlements), their dreams to women (forget your own dreams, when the baby arrives, you've got to follow her dream), their free time to women (gotta be the provider and support that family), etc. So, in the face of the many and pervasive large ways in which western country men are giving themselves away to women these days, what's a little foreskin? In her mind, nothing really.

What would the response be if a man told a woman that he was hoping to marry... that her clitoris really grossed him out and would she mind just snipping off a part of it? LOL Can you see that scene? Oh my. He could then add that if she really loves him she would get her vagina sewn a little tighter....

If she does these things she MUST BE a keeper!

There is a procedure to remove the clitoral hood over a woman's clit that is supposed to increase her chances of reaching the Big O. Of course most women are orgasmically challenged and this would be a help.

However, I think this article was a put on and bogus to troll the internet.

Buyer beware as the saying goes.

On a brighter side I have heard that circumcisions in the US have gone down dramatically in the last couple of years so maybe the message to not mutilate a newborn male child's genitals for debunked medical reasons is getting out.

I have also heard of some women removing their clitoral hood to increase sensitivity and orgasm. But what I think really happens is that at first there is increased sensitivity, but then as keratin builds up, the skin thickens and sensitivity decreases. (keratin is nature's way of water-proofing and protecting skin. Non-kerantinized skin secretes and is moist like the inner mouth and vagina)

I believe this same thing happens to guys that are circumcised as adults. At first they think it's great as they have increased sensitivity, but then after time the skin thickens as the body attempts to heal and protect the area and they end up with less sensitivity after a year or so.
