Hamilton College update

For those that do not want to click on the article here is a synopsis:

"She Fears You" promoters sent a reminder e-mail 2 hours before the presentation stating that attendance was mandatory, However, when students arrived they learned that ID cards would not be swiped so many left. Those in charge of the presentation have not given any explanation upon repeated requests. FIRE (the opposing group) is suggesting that alumni withhold donations to the college until the situation is resolved.

Did the promoters suddenly fear that they were wrong? It still pisses me off that they lead students to believe it was mandatory. I am sure students had better things to do and some probably gave up important events.

If my boys were ever required to attend such a class, I would be mad as hell. I do believe men and women have different ideas and definitions of rape, so it may not be a bad thing for both genders to talk about. But it should not be the job of the school nor should it be done in a sexist way that suggests only boys are guilty and in need of help. I wish schools would just stick to academics.
