'HOUSTON - A ladies' only gym goes belly up, but hundreds of women are still being forced to pay up.
The women say the Lady of America franchise in The Woodlands has already broken two laws, and therefore their contracts should be voided.
Dozens of them have taken their complaints straight to the top. Both the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office and the Texas Attorney General's Office are investigating.
At first, the words "women only" sounded pretty good.
"I have never belonged to a gym before, and the main reason was I didn't want a facility with men," said Ann Holmes.
But working out isn't what's bringing so many women together now. On October 15th, a year and a half after opening, the franchise in The Woodlands locked members out. The women say they never saw a 30 day notice posted, as required by state law.

Tiede says hiring an attorney may be the women's best and safest course of action, but that's little comfort when the legal process can be a long one.
The owner of Gold's Gym, Bryan Murphy, says there are women from Lady of America using his gym and actually prefer it. He adds his gym hasn't seen a penny and will explore solutions when the women's memberships completely transfer in January.'

Speaking of spoiled, petulant kids
Gyms go belly-up all the time, and the subscribers/members lose their money, sometimes being "forced to pay" to the end of their membership period if they signed up for monthly pay plans. Hey ladies, it's in the fine print. But that doesn't matter because it's all about what they "as women want and indeed are entitled to", and crap like that.
I see some poetic justice. One of the members mentioned in the story said she hadn't signed up with a gym before because there were men in it. Yeah, we must really smell BAAADD or maybe she is like those whites who wouldn't go places unless there was a separate section for "Negroes Only" during the days of segregation. Ugh.
I also like (well, not really) how the title of the story says that the women are "forced to pay" even after their gym closes. Men are 'forced to pay' for stuff all the time, yet MSM outlets wouldn't even think to use such language. Any suggestion that men have been forced to serve in military roles, forced to pay so-called "child support" to women who make more money (sometimes a lot more) that their exes do, etc., are scoffed at. "Forced". Yeah, "forced". Quite a word, that.
These women voters must be appeased...
Perhaps women feel, being forced to witness men lift more weight than they can in co-ed gyms, creates an inferiority complex in women. Of course, co-ed gyms, and men lifting more weights, is all a Patriarchal plot intended to intimidate and subjugate women, and now heaped on top of that oppression is the failure of this women only gym. What will women do? Oh, the humanity.
Shouldn't women-only gyms be free, because women are victims of Patriarchal power and control over weights. It all makes perfect sense (to a rad fem), and a bailout from VAWA, or the Office of Women's Health, or some Women's Commission, or that new "White House Council on Women and Girls" must be forthcoming. Anything less would be uncivilized (to a rad fem), and besides the U.S. taxpayers have unlimited money for such worthy causes. Along with wealth, health must be transferred to voters (women) who make up the majority of the electorate so politicians who represent them can be re-elected.
The permanent underclass (males) can just suck on moldy gym socks and lift weights in prison, where government hopes all of them will eventually be.
