Female sex offender returns to teaching at all-boys school
Story here. Excerpt:
'CINCINNATI -- A woman who was fired from a previous teaching job for having sex with a student and who pleaded guilty last month to a sex crime with a minor is now employed at an all-boys Christian school.
She pleaded guilty last month in a plea deal to unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. She initially was charged with sexual battery, a felony that would have required her to register as a sex offender and could have sent her to prison. But because her victim refused to cooperate with authorities, prosecutors allowed a plea deal to a misdemeanor that, the judge indicated last month, likely will allow her to escape time behind bars and get probation.'

I get the idea, but not really compairable because...
He is Mexican, and in Texas (thought the judge was also Mexican and so was his lawyer). The entire State of Texas is one fucked up place when it comes to legal matters.
She is in Ohio, and not Mexican. I'd imagine a non-mexican man would get less then 15 years in Ohio as well.
That said, I have NEVER EVER heard of a male teacher convicted of a sex crime allowed to go on teaching. That is definitely a new one
Not quite a minor
He was eighteen but as far as i can ascertain if you dont have a high school diploma in Ohio you are still considered a minor at 18! (legal age in Ohio is 16) What gets me is that she got her new job at a school where all the boys are already H.S graduates and over 17, so you gotta wonder why! As you can tell, due to his age im not exactly outraged by this one, but rather amused.

Really?
I was just wondering when a person without a high school diploma becomes an adult in Ohio? I didn't know that a certain education level meant that someone was an adult. Would this guy be eligible to join the military and still be considered a child, according to Ohio law, at the same time? If so, Ohio has some strange laws.
