'Why hasn't it worked? Perhaps it's because making rape prevention the responsibility of young women teaches students that guys can't be expected to be responsible for their own actions. Not surprisingly, that results in student bodies eager to let rapists off the hook and campus policies (like the one recently implemented at Tufts that forces victims into "mediation" with their rapists) that treat rape as an unfortunate disagreement instead of like the violent crime it is. Make no mistake about the danger of these equanimous attitudes -- in his 2002 landmark study of 1,882 male college students in the Boston area, Dr. David Lisak demonstrated that most campus rapes are perpetrated not by well-meaning boys confused about consent but by repeat-offender sociopaths who know exactly what they're doing. Treating rape like an unfortunate but understandable miscommunication doesn’t just deny victims justice and downplay the traumatic nature of the experience -- it allows rapists to remain free to rape again and again.'

Or so you'd think based on writings like this. You'd think right after parents leave campus in September the whole place is a vision of Hell itself with men laughing maniacally as they gang rape women all over campus night and day, through class times, sports practices, midterms, finals, hell, all the way til May, when the men, sated, finally, for at least the summer anyway, stop their constant gang-raping and let the survivors clean up to meet their folks to go home for three months of respite from the non-stop raping.

Rape, rape, rape.

I can understand why some people think single-sex colleges are a good idea. I am against this idea because the world is made up of both sexes and to segregate based on sex is as bad as segregating based on race. One thing sex-segregated colleges do have over co-ed ones is this: Rape hysteria is unknown. The hysterical obsession with RAPE, if it exists on all-women campuses, is at least limited to the women themselves, while men don't have to be around them during their manic phases. On all-male campuses, rape hysteria doesn't exist at all.

I can see why you'd want a return to single-sex colleges. Only unlike feminists I don't see think it'd be a good idea for the women as much as it would be for the men. At least they could go to class and whatnot in an atmosphere of relative peace and sanity.

In a sense this is in line with the fact that campus rape hardly ever happens - it is men ("ordinary rapists") coming from off-campus, i.e. men who are not college students, who are the vast majority of the rapists. Since this hardly ever happens though, the crisis lines are not busy. When it's two students who are involved, then it is usually about "well-meaning boys..."

Suggesting that some rowdy fraternity guy who likes to get around is a 'repeat offender sociopath', is hyperbole in the extreme.

These feminists are just trying to somehow prove their theory that EVERY rapist is a 'repeat offender sociopath' much as Dr Phil alluded to the other night while filling in for Larry King on CNN talking about the Garrido case. He said "The average rapist has between 100 and 400 victims by the time they are caught"

It's this very brand of INSANITY that lead phrases like "Campus rape crisis" to be coined in the first place. It's ALL paranoia with no basis in reality at all. Problem is, when these nut jobs make these COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE claims, no one seems to question them.
