Woman admits report of sexual assault was false

Story here.

'PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP -- A 25-year-old woman admitted Thursday she lied to Kent County sheriff's detectives about being sexually assaulted Wednesday at the Hidden Valley Townhomes by a man pretending to be a maintenance worker.

Detectives will be seeking charges against the woman of filing a false police report.

An interview with the woman Thursday revealed she fabricated the story.

The woman told detectives Wednesday a man approached her apartment and told her that he was there to fix her drywall.

The woman said the alleged suspect then entered the apartment, forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint.

Criminal charges have not yet been filed.'

They don't anthony. How many times do I have to tell you.
My prediction. No trial and an apology plus a wink wink envelope under the table.

Did she actually blame a specific man or just a phantom? I don't see from the brief news bite that a real person was harmed by this, however, next time the outcome could very well be different if she is not charged for her lies.

Once again they don't publish her name. Of course, she is innocent until proven guilty, unlike the men who are simply accused of rape and subsequently have their lives ruined before even going to trial.
