"Women have always known that men are a bit of a waste of space"

Absolutely disgusting sexism (but it's the 'right' sort, so that's OK with the mainstream media it seems), here. Excerpt:
'Women have always known that men are a bit of a waste of space.
Now British scientists have proved how unnecessary blokes truly are by creating the first human sperm from stem cells.'
Let's do the always-enlightening gender reversal thing:
"Men have always known that women are a bit of a waste of space.
Now British scientists have proved how unnecessary chicks truly are by creating the first human ovary from stem cells."
Yep. I can see that one being printed in a national newspaper... not!

Boom about to be lowered...
Let them have their fun, in twenty years women will also be reproductively obsolete, and their status depends much more on reproduction than ours.
why don't they just come out and say it??
there's a word for it - genocide. That's what Maureen Dowd advocates - which is why her books sell so well.

Gendercide
seems a better term. There is some good discussion on it here.
I am forced to ask - when all the men are gone, who will pay the child support?
sorry TomP, that site is really out of touch with reality
I looked at the site real quick, and saw the definition of 'gendercide' they're using. Individual incidents of violence are one thing, and advocating the elimination of a class of people is another. Maureen Dowd has a lot more influence than does some guy who has shot three women. Besides, you end up with a thing like Marc Lepine, where there is no way to know exactly what was going on in the killer's mind or what all his motivations were, what all the background is.
