Glenn Sacks Campaign: Protest Lifetime's New Reality Show 'Deadbeat Dads'

'Lifetime TV announced the launch of its new, father-bashing reality show Deadbeat Dads last week. To email and fax a letter to Lifetime Executives protesting this show, click here.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Deadbeat Dads, originally developed at Fox, follows National Child Support founder Jim Durham as he tracks down and confronts dads who don’t pay child support.” According to Reuters, Durham “functions as a sort of ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ for tracking deadbeats…It’s ambush reality TV.” Durham will target fathers who are behind on their child support by “making their lives miserable — foreclosing on their house, repossessing their car. He will squeeze them.”

As if it doesn't happen often enough in private, now reality T.V. is helping out to alienate non-custodial parents.

And I just really can't generally imagine anything more hateful and misandric.

to find some new types of entertainment for the unwashed masses.

i can see so many ways this could go bad.

ex: what if the guy he ruins turns out not to be the real father?

lawsuit?

or some guy at the end of his rope turns a gun on him?
now that i might pay to see.

a society that only steals children from men, holds the children
for ransom, and then chases men down like animals.
a different low for sure. not too sure it is a new low.

i won't feel sorry for what happens to him. if he gets killed or maimed,
then the lawyers will have some new meat to burn. and simpleton society
will have a new bad man to hate.

guess you really got to either hate men or worship women
or just be stupid to get off on this sort of thing.

good hunting. hope he gets what he deserves.

wonder how n.o.w. would react if someone started hunting down
deadbeat women, or women who raped small children and got no punishment?
equality? fairness? truth? justice? honor? none in sight, as usual.

yeah, i can see this really turning bad, very quickly.
this is pure hate, driven by a perverted justice system.

The premise of this show is a new low in TV. All it does is justify the reason I hated reality TV to begin with. It's shallow, one-sided, substance-less, and more times than not, completely staged. Not to mention the fact that I watch TV to escape reality, not watch it.

I also found the allusion to Dog the Bounty Hunter very appropriate. I hate that guy too. Jim and Dog have one thing common in the sense that if I found out either one was killed doing their job, I wouldn't feel sorry for them in the least. I mean, what did they expect?

P.S. Isn't this show an invasion of people's privacy? Do they plan on making another show where they hunt down custodial parents who deny the other parent access to their kids?
