'Manhunt' for Woman Sought in Ex-Husband's 2008 Plumas County Murder

'PLUMAS COUNTY, CA - Murder charges were filed Wednesday and a manhunt was underway for a woman charged with killing her ex-husband in Plumas County last year and burning his body in Nevada, according to a Plumas County sheriff's spokesman.

Plumas County prosecutors charged Nazira Cross, 43, with murder with special circumstances Wednesday in connection with the July 2008 death of Cross' ex-husband Michael, Plumas County sheriff's Sgt. Steve Peay said.

Peay said detectives were actively searching for Nazira Cross, who allegedly had several aliases and may have fled the area or the country.'
