UK: False rape claim - woman jailed

'A WOMAN who falsely claimed to have been raped has been jailed.
Lauren Chaffey, aged 21, of Huddersfield Road, Newhey, admitted perverting the course of justice when she appeared at Bolton Crown Court.
Today (Wednesday) she was sentenced to five months in prison.
Chaffey claimed to have been out with friends in March last year when she was introduced to a man who later raped her.
As a result an innocent man spent almost 24 hours in custody while police investigated the allegation.'

it will be interesting to see how much of the sentence she actually serves. it's about time women who make false claims of rape are held accountable.
