'The feminist planner, researcher and activist, who is a founding member of Toronto Women's City Alliance and the author of a recent UN-HABITAT publication on gender and local government, will speak at the city's International Women's Day Celebration in council chambers March 9.

Khosla, who works internationally and lives between Toronto and Vancouver, says administrators in charge of Toronto's skating arenas allotted ice time for hockey players based on who had held slots in the past.

Decisions about infrastructure, sports and recreation, public transit, public toilets and neighbourhood design would better suit women, seniors and multicultural groups if they were considered through a gender lens, Khosla says, who cited the example of better lighting around bus stops.'

The convolutions are terrible here. I suppose she forgets that when she lumps in multicultural groups and senoirs she forgets that those groups include men too.

And I don't think you need to see it through a gender lens, as she so boringly puts it, to understand that bus stops need better lighting. It's called looking out for EVERYONE in society Khosla; why don't you and you're ilk set aside your discriminatory ways and irrational seething hostilities toward men and try that for a change. Your gynocentric focusing--and I'm not fooled by the token mentionings of the other groups-- is getting increasingly nauseating to everyone.

Wow, are you serious? There are lots of things that aren't designed with men in mind either, including said public toilets. Do you think we like unshielded or communal urinals? Or how about how every men's room door has to be propped open for some reason, I guess just to make it harder to get the flow going thanks to the noise that travels in from outside the room.

It seems that this woman's solution for every problem is to blame white people, namely males. Ironic that in her quest for fair treatment of all people, she actually exposes herself as a sexist racist.
