Clinton intervenes in US-Brazil custody case

Story here. Excerpt:

'NEW YORK – Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has intervened in an international custody dispute over an 8-year-old boy, saying Wednesday she is pushing Brazil to return him to his father in New Jersey.

The boy, whose Brazilian mother died last year, is being raised by his stepfather, a lawyer in Rio de Janeiro.
...
Goldman's wife, Bruna, took the boy on a vacation to Brazil in 2004 and never returned to the United States. She divorced him, remarried and died last year after giving birth.

Goldman has said he was denied visitation for years.

Clinton said Goldman's case is an example of a problem around the world. She said there were nearly 50 U.S. children in similar situations in Brazil who should be returned to the U.S. — and more around the world.'

Of course, there's intervening and then there's intervening. Oh to be a fly on the wall at that meeting.

I have to hand it to Hillary for this one. I hope that the father and son are reunited as soon as possible.

Hitlery is actually pushing to have the boy be with his father???!!! Holy crap! Don't mind me but I really need to punch myself to see if this is a dream or not. This boy is very fortunate because if this was a domestic case, I doubt Hitlary would be on the father's side. Remember, politics guys, politics. That's why she is doing this.

Politics aside, I am happy for this boy for hopefully having the oppertunity to be with his dad. That's what really counts. The boy's happiness.

brazil, or any other country does this sort of stunt
is because they KNOW the u.s. of feminism treats men
in custody cases like so much dung on your shoe,
and would not normally
do anything about something like this HAPPENING TO A MAN.

on the other hand if this was a MOTHER that was being denied
legal custody of HER child....

well most everybody here knows about that already.

imho - hitlery is angling for something political here.

think maybe she wants to be a republican?

Yeah, I think she is doing a really good dead, perhaps she was told there was a parent involved pledged to help and then found out it was a dad yet was already commited, W/E the case it's a good thing no doubt.

Don't get all het up.
The only reason Hitlary is intervening strongly on the side of the American father is because in the other corner stands a Brazilian step-dad. The mother who originally absconded with the child died last year. Were she still alive madam Secretary wouldn't have touched this issue with a ten-foot court order, international incident be damned.

All this incident did was give madam S.S. a chance to appear "gender neutral" and act patriotic.

Hardly! If there is nothing in this that promotes her quest for power so she can seize the Presidency in the next election cycle then nothing will happen.

The world and all the people in it are to the Hildabeast just a mechanism that only exists to enrich her and advance her personal comfort level zone. People who do not do this don't count in her world view.

As much as I want to believe that Clinton actually is concerned for the father, the other posters have made some good points.

This is a case of father vs. step-father. If it were father vs. mother, I'm sure it would be different.
