US Men Dying For Rigged Elections?

Article here. Iraq is holding national elections that guarantee women seats. Excerpt:

"Regardless of the votes their candidates receive, parties are required to give every third seat to a female candidate on their list, according to a report this week from the International Crisis Group."

In other words, American men fighting in Iraq are being maimed and killed so a misandric matriarchal form of government can be forced upon the nation of Iraq.

Well, isn't that just really stupid?

I can't help but wonder, why do quota laws around the world stipulate that women politicians take up less than half of the seats in the legislature? Why don't the laws dictate 50% women, 50% men?

My theory is that that way, the feminists who made these laws can later on say "oh look women still have yet to achieve parity in political representation, there's still a glass ceiling that prevents women from obtaining seats in the government, blah blah blah blah blah."

having a 50/50 quota would be ridiculously annoying. I prefer the way Japan handles quotas (even though I hate quotas full stop). They have the 70/30 rule for some things where they aim (not enforce) to get at least 30% of positions taken by the underrepresented gender. Fortunately that still gives a lot of flexibility in how many men they can take on board. The closer you get to the 50/50 rule the more difficult (and counter-productive) it gets, and the more talented men we waste (since men dominate the higher ends of intelligence).
