Ireland: Girls Are Happier Than Boys At Primary School, Study Shows

Article here. Excerpt:

'Just over one quarter (26 per cent) of primary seven boys are completely happy coming to school, compared with 44 per cent of girls, according to a survey carried out by Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Ulster.

The Kids’ Life and Times Survey found that boys in Northern Ireland were less happy than girls with writing, reading, spelling, working by themselves and coming to school. The survey also found that just over half of primary seven children think pupils in their school have been bullied.'

It seems MRA issues are most important in Ireland, Scotland, England, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and India. I would also include the circumcision debate in South Africa.

No disrespect towards my British and Canadian friends, but it seems your countries are at the forefront of the battle. Then again, things aren't much better here in the States.

I hear a feminist group is trying to become a political party in Canada.

....But really we are as much a two party system (at the federal level at least) as the USA. Up here it has always been either the Liberal Party of Canada or the Conservative Party of Canada (formerly known as the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada) who ends up winning the election. Sure, we have hundreds of registered political parties, but only two have any shot in hell of ever forming a federal government. I predict Tuesday October, 14 2008 (The day of the Federal Election up here) will result in yet another Conservative Minority Government (though I certainly will not be voting conservative or liberal this year)
