Shock: Women suffering a housing crisis

I was horrified to read this article, from News.com.au (Australia).

Apparently, women have been marginalized and abandoned in the housing crisis, which is currently affecting Australia. Currently rental prices and new purchase prices are getting higher as a percentage of average income, making it hard for many people to get a place - but apparently this affects women more than us pampered, in-control men.

Excerpt:
'A report by Flinders University's Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute found that two-thirds of those who received government rent assistance were women. This was related to the fact that there were six times the number of female primary carers than male.

Researcher Selina Tually said that "joining the dots" between other statistics - including how women comprise more than 66 per cent of public housing tenants and generally have fewer assets, lower income and less superannuation than men - reinforced the vulnerability of women to housing stress, especially in cases of family breakdown.

"Women will need many more affordable purchase and rental housing options," according to the report, Too Big to Ignore.'

To me this says 'women choose to move out, take the kids and get the Government and their ex's to pay for it - but that isn't enough cash, so we need to give them more, so they can live in the style to which they have become accustomed' - but then again that could just be my own spoiled, well-off male opinion...

This is just another effort to keep the women-as-victim...anti-male hysteria at a feverish pitch!!

Housing crisis? Sounds like a good place to invest in real estate. If I were a landlord in say, Sydney for example, I could throw these bovine crybabies out on their fat pohpkas when they're late with the rent.
