'A North San Diego County woman was awarded child support from her ex-husband nearly 50 years after she says he left her with a young daughter.

Toni Anderson makes no apologies for going after the man she calls her "deadbeat ex" some 50 years after he left her with their 3-year-old daughter.

Anderson says her ex-husband chose to go to Canada rather than pay court ordered child support in the early 1970s.

"I kind of put it on the back burner and just kind of forgot about it over the years," said Anderson. She supported her daughter while working as an interior designer in Los Angeles at a firm her daughter now runs.

"I'm not negating the fact I was able to send my daughter to college, Paris. We traveled and had a good time. But the money runs out."'

Murder has no statute. Just about every crime does though including rape, kidnapping, extortion, etc.

If a woman doesn't pursue CS while she has the child under age 18, it sort of says she doesn't need the money and maybe also she doesn't want to deal with her estranged baby-daddy. Then later in life she can decide she needs extra money so literally decades after her kid is an adult she can go after her baby-daddy.

I am not condoning the dad's behavior. He moved to Canada to avoid a court judgment. I think the fact a man can be compelled to pay for a woman's choice to bring to term is wrong. Nonetheless the law is the law. Perhaps a man may choose to disobey it out of principle but he does have to accept the consequences.

Still, she could have pursued him for CS in Canada. Cross-border cases around CS and other issues happen all the time. Hell when it comes to law enforcement, Canada and the US may as well be the same countries, we cooperate and trade prisoners with each other so often. We'll even enforce each other's judgments. Our armed forces use each other's equipment, train together, fuck each other's women, bugger each other, hell even the uniforms are almost the same.

Why exactly we haven't just dispensed with the border entirely I have no idea.

My point is that she could have gone after the guy when he was in Canada, too. She just decided not to.

CS is simply a racket. And it's robbing Peter to pay Paulina.
