China: Mother Refused To Break Into Expensive BMW To Save Toddler Son From Heat

Story here. Excerpt:

'A mum has sparked outrage after she refused to allow firefighters to break into her car to save her toddler son from the heat because the vehicle was too expensive to damage.

The unnamed mother was unable to open the door of her BMW when it accidentally locked itself.

Her three-year-old son was trapped inside and was suffering in the heat as no windows were open.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene in Yiwu city, China, were about to break the glass to rescue the boy - but his mum told them she wanted to wait for a locksmith instead so the car would not be damaged.'

I don't see what this has to do with gender or men's right. Other than people are trying to insinuate that the mother valued her car more than she valued her child. If that was so, the mother would be at home right now thinking, "well thank god my car is okay." Instead, I bet she is mourning the loss of her child and possibly on the verge of suicide from all the shame and heartache she is feeling. I am sure she wishes she could go back and make a different decision.

People of both genders have made these types of foolish terrible mistakes and both genders have caused accidental death to children. In fact everyone present who could have saved the child misjudged the situation including the firefighters who did not need to honor the mother's request to wait. If you say the mother valued the car more than the child, you could say the same for every bystander who had power to save the child, but didn't.

This is an "idiot parent" story with a very sad ending.

From your comment: "People of both genders have made these types of foolish terrible mistakes and both genders have caused accidental death to children."

Spot on. Problem is, many people do not believe as you do; they think only men do these kinds of things or if they hear of a mother do it, they go into denial. It is that tendency to hold above reproach women even if their actions are condemnable that is a manifestation of nymphotropism. Exposing these biases for what they are is entirely in line with the MRM cause.

If I did publish a story about a mother-behaving-badly every time it was reported, though, the site would be filled with many more. When I do publish a story like this one, it's to remind yet even MRAs that indeed, women are as capable of such decisions as men.

And I hardly hold out as much sympathy for her as you seem to. I wouldn't for a man who did such a thing, why would I for a woman? An innocent child has died via child abuse. Abusers of children, especially when behaving without any pressure of circumstance but merely out of a casual or callous indifference to human life, much less a willfully cruel motive, don't get any slack. They belong in jail, male and female alike. But are female child abusers sent to jail nearly at the same rate as male ones? No. But they ought to be.

It appears that the firefighters did get the boy out of the car in the end. Other articles were not clear on this rather important detail. Still, the mother appears to have been more concerned with her car than her son.
