"Chances are, if you move in feminist circles, you will have at least one friend who has a "Male Tears" coffee cup, "Misandrist" nameplate necklace, or is a regular user of hashtags and GIFs of the #maletears variety.
"Ironic misandry", as Slate's Amanda Hess summarised last year, emerged as "a clever tactic for furthering the feminist agenda", whereby identifying as an over-the-top man-hater (a typical skewering, by certain men, of almost any feminist) helps feminists avoid the extremes of in-fighting while beating certain critics to the punch.
This can be especially enjoyable within expressly feminist spaces, where steam can be let off by way of an expression of cartoonish man-hating that always makes me think of the divorced women's group from Jerry Maguire and the elegant older lady in a velvet beret yelling "I FINALLY GOT IN TOUCH WITH MY ANGER!!"

If I were to champion "ironic misogyny" (I am being sarcastic here, folks: no desire to stoop to the feminists' level), I'd start with #drinksfemaletears, #killallwhitefemales, #killallfemales, #killallnonwhitefemales, #killallfeminists, etc., then I'd come up with a line of custom coffee mugs that had "Female tears mug" on the side in dark blue letters with a male gender symbol somewhere on it.
Then I'd tell everyone it's just a joke, or really, a way to spread masculinism, and that anyone who is upset has no sense of humor and/or is anti-male.
That's what I *would* do if I were like feminists. Thank God I am not, however.
