Hillary Clinton delivers fiery feminist message in first campaign speech
Article here. Excerpt:
'Hillary Clinton gave a glimpse of a presidential campaign focused on feminist issues in her first speech since announcing her bid for the White House.
Mrs Clinton, vying to become the first-ever female US president, delivered on Thursday an impassioned speech at the Women in the World conference in New York, saying she aimed to champion women’s rights - from mandatory maternity leave to equal pay.
The frontrunner for the Democrat nomination high-fived the summit’s host, journalist and talk-show host Tina Brown, and was greeted with wild applause and a standing ovation when she took to the stage.
"The advancement of the full participation of women and girls is the great unfinished business of the 21st century," the former secretary of state told the crowd at the Lincoln Centre in Manhattan.
Pitching to progressive primary voters, she said women had been let down by previous administrations: "We have to have leaders who recognise that the time has come. When women are held back, our country is held back ... When women get ahead, everyone gets ahead."
...
When Mrs Clinton first ran for president in 2008, she played down the prospect that she would be the first woman to run the country. She focused instead on her experience and grit.
Her advisers have long said they regret downplaying the history-making potential of her candidacy during the failed White House bid and have vowed to not make the same mistake this time around.'

There'll be no end of it
The barf-buckets'll be over-flowing... at least in most circles, anyway, if she, by some bizarre happening, manages to get elected. I wonder just where the hell's the GOP these days?
Calm down...
Matt, I am with you, my brother.
May I share this?
RIGHT NOW, yes, all the GOP candidates trail Clinton....
BUT!
Where is the GOP? Waiting... for they have a secret weapon...
The Governor of New Mexico!
Hispanic, Female, Republican, competent, lawyer, intelligent: she will be the VP.
(Which is sort of why I think it will not be Bush, but Walker: Martinez will bring in Florida.)
That will end this Clinton neurosis.
Just Google her name: she will be the one.
(And expect a LOT of help from Mia Love -- just the name alone.)
parallels...
...and she wonders why she is often referred to as; "Hitlery Clinton" .
