On Reuniting With My Daughter

This is a personal story that I wanted to share with the readers on this forum.

I'll start with the bad news: In February, my dad passed away. In March, my mom passed away. I have to be frank: those were both tough losses for me. I loved them both and am still grieving their loss.

After my father's death, I received an e-mail from one of my daughters from whom I had been estranged for twenty-plus years. The background: I have three daughters from my first marriage which ended in a bitter divorce. My ex made false allegations of sexual abuse against me, which my daughters eventually came to believe were true. They were not true, but as a result of those accusations my daughters would no longer speak with me. Two of my daughters still will not speak with me, but the one daughter and I were reunited in late February. It was a tearful, joyful reunion, with the past being left in the past. It was truly like a scene out of a movie: we cried, we hugged, we talked, we spent the day together. We are now in contact on a regular basis. We talk regularly (she lives 3 hours away) and she was very supportive when my mom passed. She was even able to speak over the phone to "grandma" before she passed.

Another wonderful aspect to this story: I found out I have two grandsons. I have not yet been able to spend a lot of time with them, but hope to in the near future.

This has truly been a miracle for me. I share this story because I know there are fathers on this forum who may have become estranged from their children. I want them to know there is hope. After more than 20 years, I thought I would never see any of my daughters again. If this can happen to me after 20 years, it can happen to you. It is difficult to express the joy I felt the day I reunited with my daughter. And I still have hope that perhaps I can reunite someday with my other two daughters.

Keep the faith, guys. Miracles do happen.

Thanks, Thomas.

It's difficult for me to describe how wonderful this has been for me. I literally believed I would never see any of them again. And I have hope for the other two daughters. Plus I have two grandsons. What a wonderful surprise!

This is a most joyful event for me.

Thanks again.

Sorry for my late post, I meant to comment sooner....

Sorry about the loss of your parents, but congrats on reuniting with your daughter. Hopefully this will be the start of more good news. :)
