Topless Feminist Mob Attacks Cathedral In Argentina

'A mob of pro-abortion feminists attacked a Catholic cathedral in San Juan, Argentina, assaulting the men who stood in front of it praying, and finally burning an effigy of Pope Francis.
Citing Argentinian news sources, LifeSite News reported that video footage had been taken of a mob of angry women, many of them topless, harassing the men who stood in front of the cathedral to protect it, reciting prayers. The men did not retaliate as the women drew Hitler mustaches on their faces with marker, spray painted their faces, clothes and crotch areas, and sexually harassed them.

Police were not on hand at the time. They reportedly told media they couldn’t intervene because the protesters were women.
The incident took place on Nov. 24, Argentina’s National Women’s Encounter, held annually to bring together Argentinean feminists. It is sponsored by the Department of Culture as a social interest event.'

Protesting for abortion rights is one thing...
... practically attacking a place of worship is another.
There were other ways they could have made their beliefs known without becoming public enemy #1. But some people just plain never learn.
FEMEN
Although the article did not say, I believe this group is FEMEN. They are getting more dangerous and more out of control.
I can't believe more is not done to stop them. They are clearly committing crimes captured on video. Why are they not arrested? How are they funded? If they are traveling internationally, why aren't their passports seized or denied entry into countries?
I saw a little blurb/mini documentary on them on TV the other day. It started as a small group of women in Ukraine, but they have expanded internationally and now based in Paris. They seem to like the attention they get, they are all attractive women willing to bare breasts, there always seem to be lots of cameras around. They purposely choose what will get them the most media coverage. They now receive applications and training worldwide for women who want to join, it is my understanding that one would have to be "accepted" to join the group.
In my opinion, they are out of control, dangerous and violent. They should be classified as a hate group or terrorists (I believe they travel internationally). These women need to be stopped and face the legal consequences for their actions and victim restitution.

"Bloody awful show", as the stereotypical British field marshall from WWII movies made in the '50s would say. Between this and their recent Parisian peeing stunt, I have a feeling this particular bunch's days are numbered. (That they're women moved the police to stand by haplessly unsure of what to do-- this time. I doubt they'll grant Femen the same indulgence next time they show up someplace for whatever reason.) But more generally, just how much is behavior like this going to win them sympathy from those who disagree with their views? The point of activism is to make desired changes happen. This usually but not always includes winning friends and influencing people, especially on controversal social matters that are heavily influenced by public opinion. In a very Catholic country like Argentina, attacking a church naked from the waist up (sex not even a consideration) and assaulting, sexually and otherwise, gathered worshippers, will probably not do this.
The Police Could not Intervene?

Not sure that I understand this reasoning, and I was hoping to find out more about it. However, if true, this appears to be the greatest of the crimes committed at that event. It would be a travesty if women were beyond the authority of the police, simply due to their gender.
Used to be this way in the US, too
When it comes to law enforcement in many parts of the world, the police, most of whom are men, still operate under the categorical directive that says as a man, one cannot ever harm a woman, even in self-defense; this includes even in the process of enforcing the law. The tacit assumption underlying this includes the notion that women inherently cannot break laws.
It took some time for this notion to be disabused here in the US, as police won't hesitate now to use force to take females into custody when necessary. But remember, even in the US, this is still relatively new.
The Femen'ers are doing their bit though to get that attitude changed, at least in Argentina.
Feminists showing their true side
They are discrediting other feminists, and I am surprised that more women are not putting them down. They show feminism to be what it has been all along - a radical violent hate group.
