Good Men
I like this site a lot. It fills me with energy. But sometimes, when I read too much about how so many women despise men, I get down. I found this. It helps to know that there are women out there who do like men. Excerpt:
'This is a list of things that I love about men. Pure and simple. No talk of feminism or slut shaming or gender depictions in the media or rape culture here—just an unadulterated tribute to men, a panegyric, a compilation of reasons to be thankful for the male species, in ways both big and small, superficial and profound, personal and professional. They are in no particular order, the creation of my stream of consciousness. I could have gone on for hours, but it’s my hope that you, readers, will add to this list, to show that we appreciate and adore men and what they bring to our lives and the world. (We can return to the heavier debates tomorrow.) For now, let’s have a Kumbaya moment. Leave your reasons in the comments section, and let’s see what we can come up with together!'

Not bad
Yeah, she has a good number of "men: they have their uses" things in the list, but tell me, if you made a list of reasons you liked/appreciated women, wouldn't it, too, sport a number of such items? Of course. This doesn't mean people shouldn't try to appreciate others in ways regardless of their utility to oneself, I don't think. It's just for me, I accept that people are generally self-oriented (if not self-centered). That's just how we are.
Oh and @bronxman, I concur that if you read all the negative stuff about men in the MSM, yeah, you'll get despondent. But after I realized that such is a concerted effort by feminists and their sympathizers in the media, in implicit collusion with content creators and managers (writers, editors, etc.) to grab circulation/airtime and the ad revenue that comes with it by publishing hot-button stuff likely to generate buzz and up circulation/viewership, I got more "clinical" about what I was seeing. True, they dare not go after any other group than men, do they? That itself exposes the permissibility of misandry in our society. But remember for every patently committed misandrist/feminist shooting off her mouth via tweet, essay, book, post, or speech, there are thousands of other women who do not share her categorical distaste for "the male species". What you don't hear in support of the loud and annoying feminists is as telling perhaps as what you do. Still, I'd be happy to see people of both sexes stand more often against what the feminists are doing and more for men's issues. But that's no surprise. :)
yes you are right
Matt, yes, you are right. I thought about that. She has her "uses for men."
It is true and I suppose I will get irritated at that, soon enough. I am new to all this. But just for a brief moment it felt good.
Thanks for the reality dose, though. I do need it whenever the guard falls to low.
