Story here. Excerpt:
'Residents of Matisi Estate in Kitale were thrown into mourning when an 18-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her husband to death to protest his plans to marry a second wife.
The woman is said to have quarrel led with her husband on Saturday night opposing the second marriage.
A neighbour, who alerted residents, said that on Sunday morning a fight ensued before the woman picked a kitchen knife and stabbed her husband.
The neighbour said the woman had complained that her husband had secretly brought into their home and slept with another woman while she was away.
Kitale OCPD Kimani Mitugo said the woman was in custody and will be arraigned in court today.'

Justified?
Typical western sensibilities reject not just polygamy but polyandry and for most of us, even polyamory. We have this exclusivity thing going. That's us. Not so in other places. Polygamy and polyandry are found in a number of other places and cultures. Of course like anything, it can be a source of at least friction and from there, a motivation for murder.
If this was a case where a man learned his wife planned on marrying a second husband in a polyandrous society and also suspected her of infidelity with the new man, would he be justified by murdering her? No. Really pi$$ed maybe, but it's not an excuse for killing her. Divorce maybe. But not kill.
Don't know what they'll do with her. I do know this: it seems for far too many people of either sex, the person you marry is, among the universe of everyone you know, the person most likely to kill you. Add that to the list of reasons one ought to be rather circumspect abt that thar marriage thang. :)
