What it looks like when men stop doing what men do
I saw this recent article on Detroit. Not unrelated to this MANN post, in my comment I pointed out that when men can't, won't, or are unable to maintain civilization, you get fairly predictable dire results. In these danger zones that parts of Detroit have turned into, if men in Detroit decided to reclaim them and establish law and order, they'd be functioning again at least as safe places to live. It's expected that men would fulfill that role; notice some continue to try, underpaid and badly-equipped police and firefighters (men, of course) are still trying to keep civilization going. But where are the women stepping up to assume such roles, who gain so much from the civilized state? Not to be found. Creating and maintaining civilization is a responsibility that remains collectively on men's shoulders, yet so many of its benefits are heavily channeled to women. Excerpt:
'The latest trend? When a person is murdered, he is thrown into an abandoned house, and it is set on fire. There are tens of thousands to choose from.
I know of an 11-year-old boy who was shot, the bullet going clean through his arm. The cops stuffed him in the back of a squad car and rushed him to the hospital. That’s how we do it. There was no ambulance available. About two-thirds of the city’s fleet is broken on an average day.
I know a cop who drives around in a squad car with holes in the floorboards. There is no computer, no air-conditioning, the odometer reading 147,000 miles. His bulletproof vest has expired. His pay has been cut 10 percent.
I knew a firefighter who died in a fire, but not from the fire. He died when the roof of an abandoned house collapsed on him and his brethren could not find him because his homing alarm was broken and did not sound. He suffocated.
...
So come visit Detroit, my fellow Americans. Come take a look at your future. Come give the tires a kick. And if you want your money back, come strip copper pipes and wiring from the abandoned buildings — if you can find any copper. Chances are, someone beat you to it.'

promiscuous women have ruined Detroit
I often say promiscuous women ruin society. Female hypergamy ensures children can be cared for, healthy families build a healthy society, and men need women for procreation and women need men for everything else. Generally all tasks needed to sustain society men can do equally or better than women. The only thing women can do, that men can NEVER do, is make babies (the equalizing factor - and let's not forget the higher male sex drive is important to maintain this balance).
So here is Detroit, an unhealthy slice of society; finacially and morally bankrupt. I bet we have all the negative forces from the things I mentioned above tearing down society. I bet we have free sex, birth control, abortion, unmotivated men, men and women uninterested in marriage, no intact families, children on welfare, etc.
I bet there's a "women's clinic" on every corner in Detroit. It's not that I think birth control and abortion are necessarily bad, but the way they are used to promote female promiscuity has changed the way females choose their sexual partners and changes the motivation to form healthy families.
Some might say the blame is on both men and women, or that men abandoning their children is the problem, or women should be able to sleep around free from responsibility. However, IMO, the blame is more on the women. Women are the gatekeeper to sex and as such they decide who the other parent of their children will be. More abstinence, choosing only successful men for sex partners, and caring about children (including the unborn), and policies which encourage fathers to stay with their children would clean up areas like Detroit. Patriarchal societies don't have these problems, and men connected with their families and children are less likely to have drug/alcohol problems and less likely to take risks and commit crimes. Fathers connected to their children typically have concern for their community and keeping it safe. If thugs and slackers couldn't get laid, less boys would set out to be thugs and slackers.
