Firms owned by white women get half of Parkland’s minority contracts

'White women’s companies have received half of the $177 million that Parkland Memorial Hospital has awarded to minority- and women-owned businesses for the construction of a new public hospital.
Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price asked Parkland officials to provide the breakdown as he scrutinizes how Parkland and the new facility are being overseen.
“It’s very interesting to me that in every area, white-women-owned businesses lead the pack,” Price said at Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Dallas County commissioners.'

My dad is quite involved in
My dad is quite involved in the business community in my area. He despises these grants going to women owned businesses. He suspects the majority of the time the business is in the woman's name, but her husband runs and operates the business. These businesses also get priority for government contracts.
Wether the business is legitimately owned by a woman or not, there really is no need for the special treatment and free money as women are not minorities.
