Video clip here. Quote:
'So now the perception is, yes, women are here to stay. And when I’m sometimes asked when will there be enough? And I say when there are nine, people are shocked. But there’d been nine men, and nobody’s ever raised a question about that.'

Again, it's power, not justice
Justice Ginsberg is a feminist. It should come as no surprise what she said. It's about power, not justice, and judges certainly know that justice is determined by those in power, for all intents and purposes. Especially SC justices know this: their "right" to interpret the US Con'n is presumed, essentially self-conferred. Arguably, it isn't too much of a stretch to say the highest court in the land can be expected to interpret the highest legal document thereof. But said highest legal document is THE definition of powers that the gov't has, specifically reserving anything not mentioned therein to the people or the states. It never said anything about the SC having the power to interpret it.
But that didn't stop the SC. And rather than the Congress coming up with an amendment thereto stopping that and installing a different way to handle disputes leading right up to questions around what the Con'n means, it leaves it in the hands of 9 judges-- one of whom now says it's fine to have nothing but female judges thereon, in essence because, well, no one complained when there were only 9 men. But Mme. Justice, that isn't true. You complained. And so did a lot of other people, feminists and not.
So if it's about justice, why say such a thing? Because you know as well as I: feminism isn't about justice, it's about power. And you want to see feminists possess it at every level to the exclusion of anyone else. Nine SC justices, all women, and esp. all feminists, would be fine by you, wouldn't it? But, what of "diversity"? Hmm, that word... well, maybe they would be kind of diverse: one 5' 8", another 5' 7", one brunette, another blonde, etc. Yeah, "diverse" enough, right? But all female and... all feminists.
Justice.
