Sounds a bit fishy. I don't remember anyone ever saying "WOMEN who fall victim to abusive men and children". We are left with an image of a 10 year old kid abusing a grown man. Then the whole thing looks a bit silly.

It also adds to the image that feminists have created of women and children being together in one camp and men being somehow separate and in an opposing faction.

The feminist idea that has been burned into everyone's brain of men abusing women and children is then inverted to become women and children abusing men.

The typical situation of women abusing men and children, is something that wipes out the feminist version of the family structure ie. Men on one side of the fight. Mothers and their children on the other side.

I think your right about it being feminists who connected "women and children" to family structure, but that is also a traditional term too, right?

I would really like to know where the term "women and children" (the chivalry kind) came from. One thing it makes me think of is war and the rules of war which the church came up with. It seems very unnatural to clump together women AND children, and consider them both a innocents. When a society goes to war women have just as much to benefit from it. They do get the resources, preserve the way of life they helped establish/maintain, and keep all their rights/privileges (kids, husbands, and other networks which serve them). They also support the system for war and yet are seen as innocent like children?!? I wonder if it was a chivalrous move by the church that made the connection between women and children as both being innocent in war.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it more normal in the past for women to pay with their lives if their state went to war because of counter attacks. Is it really just too hard to get accustomed to the idea of women dying like men do that we need that chivalrous term, even though a women dying from labour was not uncommon in the past.

anyways, it seems we're making really good headway if men are being targeted for DV aid. I was also glad to hear that Germany is targeting men for health reasons in a campaign that says only 1 and five men (German?) get screened for cancer.
