Victim Now Accused of False Rape Report

False reports happen, Sgt. Dennis Rhoney says, but all reports have to be taken seriously.
“You have to treat every report like the real thing,” he says. Every situation has different ways of investigating the crimes, and they have to be investigated the same way each time.
“If our officers don’t follow those parameters, then they’re not doing their job,” he says. “We take (false reports) very seriously.

The sentence in bold: Huh?
That makes absolutely zero sense! You can't do something differently every time and do it the same way as you've done every time.

Either make filing a false police report, perverting the course of justice, or whatever else you want to call it a crime that carries serious consequences

OR

Write a new law aimed primarily at women (hey they deserve at least one criminal law aimed at them, men have an absolute monopoly when it comes to criminal laws being written with them in mind.) regarding the particularly heinous crime of making a false accusation of sexual assault. Make that law carry the exact same penalties as sexual assault laws because getting falsely accused of rape - I can personally assure you - is worse then any rape that does not last for years and also include theft of all of your assets on top. Rapes last minutes and leave emotional scars for life. False accusations can last years and carry scars and can punishment for life, and even risk death from over zealous vigilantes.

Real laws against false accusations now! No more men should suffer for one second at the hands of a, vindictive, manipulative, hate filled, or otherwise disposed to falsely accusing innocents woman.
