Canada: CHP suggests maintaining small handgun registration "especially for women"
Blog entry here. Excerpt:
'The CHP (ed.: hyperlink added) will maintain the registration of handguns but would restore the right of Canadians, especially women, to own .32 and .25 calibre weapons of barrel lengths shorter than 4.1 inches. Small handguns in the hands of women would do much to end the fear they currently experience because of violent ex-partners.
The intent of "especially women" was not to suggest that domestic violence is primarily perpetrated by men against women. As you correctly point out, statistics show that men and women are about equal in abuse. However, they also show that more serious injury and death are generally men assaulting women.
I've quoted below from a Macleans article from July 2006 entitled "Breakup Blast".
Domestic violence goes across all relationships. But serious injury and death -- it's men stalking and killing women," says Peter Jaffe, a professor at the University of Western Ontario and academic director of the Centre for Research on Violence Against Women and Children in London.'

Wrong sex...
Since men get 80% of the violence in the world, it's men who should be allowed to keep guns, not the sex that gets only 20%. I take it this is a Christian organization - "Thou shalt not kill, unless thou art female and pissed off."

Everyday I read suggestions similar to the above post - that is that women should have more privileges and power over men. I also read articles claiming or predicating women and feminism is rolling back. I can not see this. All I see is an ever tightening of the noose. Recently I have been dipping into an article by Ernest Belfort Bax called The Legal Subjugation of Men. It was written over 100 years ago in 1908. It's available on Wikipedia. You will see that what we are witnessing now has been going on for a very long time indeed. It is a disturbing read.
The Pit and the Pendulum
TMOTS,
articles that suggest that feminism is growing weaker (usually the term is "irrelevant") drive me nuts. The fems are growing bolder and tirelessly making things worse for males, the blade is very close indeed and getting closer. And yet, there is no sense of urgency.

What I found astounding here is that the author makes the same observations about women, female privilege, and feminists that any recent MRA would make.
I ignorantly believed this was all fairly recent. In fact, it's been going on for a long time.
Thanks, Trotter, for the recommendation.
