Intact America: AAP and AAFP considering circumcision recommendation

From an IA email alert:

'Help stop the AAP and AAFP from recommending circumcision!

Right now, both the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) are considering recommending infant circumcision for all baby boys – for the first time in history.

We need to show the medical community that circumcision is unnecessary, harmful and ethically wrong – before it’s too late.'

They are asking for donations, too.

I think it is time for a "Circumcision Awareness Day".

I really do. It should be a coordinate effort with other men's and anti-circ groups. We should single out the hospitals that perform the most circs and picket, send out some press releases, get some media interviews scheduled.

It could take 6 months or more to coordinate. Get home addresses of doctors that perform circ or the homes of the pro-circ leaders.

If we had several picket locations across the county and some tv or radio interviews, I think it would have an impact.

It would take some research as to what location would have the most impact and what areas have the most people willing to participate. Then if everyone contacted their local news to pick up the story (I could get a list of all news outlets to send a press release to all of them, but it helps to have people requesting the story)

Just a thought. I might be getting a little obsessed. But I think it is time to get people's attention on this matter.

Also, if you have visited the 'intact America' website to send an email to protest the recommendation, please do so. they have it set up easy. you can send a pre-written message by them, or you can send a personal message.

Great ideas and definitely worth while cause, but there are a few issues of importance that would need to be answered first.

First one that comes to mind is a big one - the campaign as proposed would be targeting ALLOT of Jewish doctors, clinics, health professionals ect.... How do we overcome the cries of anti-sematism?

Second, how do we overcome the counter campaign from the people with Government money such as the CDC, AAP and AAFP? They will call us un-educated extremist nut jobs and they will give their "expert" opinions that we are wrong.

Third, feminists. They'll protest against us just cause we are raising an issue that is about men, and they will say that NOT cutting infant boys harms real humans AKA women and girls, by risking their infection with HIV. Just as feminists seized the HPV cause as their own and governments only vaccinate girls against the virus in the name of preventing ovarian cancer, feminists will insist that not cutting puts girls at to great a risk. Just as the H in HPV stands for HUMAN not FEMALE, cutting baby boys genitals will be presented as a Women's health issue just like HPV. Only females are given protection against HPV, despite the much more logical approach of simply vaccinating EVERYONE and getting rid of the damn virus altogether. I mean, men could not transmit HPV to women if they to were vaccinated against contracting it in the first place.

Fourth, ignorant men and women. What do we do about all the snipped men out there who because they don't know what an intact penis feels like when fucking cause they never fucked with one, and claim "sex is awesome and I'm snipped". That and all the women who go "eww, unsnipped is gross! like gag me n junk. It's all dirty and smelly and discussing and it looks gross!" They all need a MASSIVE education campaign to deprogram all the lies they have been brought up with to get them on our side of the debate.

Great plan, but we definitely have lots of logistics to figure out and have counter arguments at the ready cause we will be up against some VERY powerful groups and a tremendous amount of ignorance.
