October is DV Awareness Month - Get Ready

Each year over one million Americans are hit with a false or trivial accusation of partner abuse. It's now reached the point that domestic violence laws represent the largest roll-back in Americans' civil rights since the Jim Crow era!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the theme is "Restore Civil Rights to the Violence Against Women Act." DV Awareness Month is our opportunity to get word out that our nation's domestic violence laws have gone too far, harming innocent citizens and diverting scarce resources away from the true victims.'

It will be a golden opportunity to dispel the rampant misandric illiteracy about domestic violence. One such harmful misconception is that mostly men instigate DV and women are mostly innocent victims. However, empirical studies show that women are just as likely to instigate DV as men are at the ration of 50/50. Also, women are more prone to inflict DV on children than men are.

If each MRA passed on the true facts about DV to just one person during October it would be a huge step in stopping the ignorant misconceptions and blatant lies about DV.
